The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Henry Seriake Dickson, has called for intensified grassroots mobilisation across Kogi State as the party strengthens its political structure ahead of future elections.
Dickson made the call on Wednesday in Abuja while receiving a delegation of party stakeholders from Kogi Central Senatorial District who visited the party’s national leadership as part of ongoing mobilisation efforts.
The delegation was led by a gubernatorial aspirant, Engr. Mukhtar Salawu Audu, alongside a senatorial aspirant, Hon. Mukhtar Sani-Omolori. Also in the team was the pro-tem chairman of the party in Kogi State, Hon. Monday Onate, as well as other party stakeholders and aspirants.
According to Dickson, the visit was aimed at assuring the national leadership of the commitment and support of the people of Kogi Central and other parts of the state to the party’s ideology and its mission to reposition the country.
“They came to hold vital discussions with the national leadership of the party and to assure it of the support of the good people of Kogi Central and other districts of the state who are actively joining the ideological movement of the NDC as it embarks on a national rescue mission of our dear country,” he said.
The former governor of Bayelsa State commended party stakeholders in Kogi for what he described as encouraging progress in membership registration, the establishment of party offices across the state, and the commitment shown by local leaders.
He urged party officials and aspirants to intensify mobilisation efforts across communities to consolidate the party’s growing presence in the state.
Dickson also received a group of young party members and several aspirants seeking seats in the House of Representatives from the Okene/Ogori-Magongo and Adavi/Okehi federal constituencies, who joined the visit to express support for the party leadership.
He stressed that the NDC remains committed to building what he described as a strong, inclusive and people-driven political movement capable of delivering meaningful change for Nigerians.
Speaking on behalf of the visiting stakeholders, a House of Representatives aspirant for Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Hope Omeiza, thanked the party leader for receiving the delegation and pledged that members in Kogi Central would work to strengthen the party’s structures in the area.
Similarly, another gubernatorial aspirant, Engr. Moukhtar Mohammed, assured the national leadership that the people of Kogi State would continue to embrace the NDC, noting that the party’s growing support base reflects the desire of citizens for a new political direction.
He also expressed appreciation to Dickson for what he described as the respect and recognition he consistently accords the people of the state.
Party officials said the visit forms part of ongoing mobilisation efforts aimed at expanding the NDC’s membership and consolidating its presence across the country.
