Two young billionaire entrepreneurs and social media influencers have signalled their intention to join the 2027 political race under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), declaring plans to contest for seats in the House of Representatives.
Alhaji (Dr.) Aliyu Sarkin Mota, Chief Executive Officer of Sarkin Mota Autos Limited, and Dr. Salim Ilyasu Goje, CEO of Danmama Homes Limited, made their intentions known during a visit to the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.
The duo were received by the National Chairman of the NDC, Senator Moses W. Cleopas, alongside the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary and Spokesperson, Hon. Abdulmumin Ohiare Abdulsalam.
During the meeting, Sarkin Mota expressed his desire to pick up the party’s nomination form to contest for the Yola North Federal Constituency seat in Adamawa State, while Goje indicated interest in representing Jalingo Federal Constituency of Taraba State in the House of Representatives.
Both aspirants, described as influential young entrepreneurs with significant followership on social media, pledged to mobilise young Nigerians across digital platforms in support of the NDC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They also promised to leverage their business networks and relationships to attract more supporters and stakeholders to the party, with the aim of strengthening its presence nationwide.
Responding, Senator Cleopas and the party spokesman commended the aspirants for identifying with the NDC and embracing its youth-driven ideological movement.
The party leadership further assured them of support within the party structure, noting that their youthfulness and influence align with the NDC’s vision of empowering young Nigerians to take active roles in national leadership.
The NDC officials added that the party remains committed to providing a platform for credible and energetic young leaders who are willing to contribute to Nigeria’s political development.
The visit is seen as part of the party’s ongoing efforts to attract young professionals and entrepreneurs ahead of the 2027 general elections.
