The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results that were previously withheld for investigation over suspected examination malpractice.
The Board said the newly released results are in addition to those earlier made available to candidates following the conclusion of preliminary reviews.
In a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board explained that the decision followed ongoing investigations into allegations of examination misconduct across some centres nationwide.
According to the statement, results of candidates found culpable after investigations have been cancelled, while those cleared of wrongdoing had their results released after the Board found no prima facie evidence against them.
JAMB added that results from centres flagged by its live monitoring team for suspicious activities, as well as centres with adverse reports, would remain withheld pending the outcome of further investigations.
The Board warned that any candidate or centre found guilty after the investigations would face appropriate sanctions, including cancellation of results.
JAMB advised candidates whose results are still pending to check their status by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.
