The Nigeria Police Force says coordinated operations across several states have resulted in the rescue of abducted victims, arrests of suspected criminals and recovery of firearms, weapons, vehicles and illicit substances.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in the Force’s state-by-state operational summary for September 29, 2026, covering security operations conducted between September 25 and 29.
In Kogi State, joint security forces rescued an abducted male victim unhurt after sustained bush-combing operations forced the abductors to flee into the forest. Clearance operations are ongoing to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
The police also reported the rescue of a 16-year-old abducted boy in Bauchi State, where one suspect was arrested. The victim was evacuated to hospital for medical examination.
In Zamfara State, tactical teams responded to a bandit attack along the Gusau-Funtua Federal Highway, evacuating four gunshot victims to General Hospital Tsafe. Joint security personnel are continuing efforts to rescue abducted victims and apprehend the attackers.
In Delta State, police arrested a suspected armed robber following an incident involving armed robbery and cable vandalism at a hotel in Asaba. A machete, plier, iron rod and armoured cable were recovered, while anti-crime patrols also led to the impoundment of 19 vehicles, two tricycles and a motorcycle.
Lagos recorded the arrest of five suspected armed robbers following a distress call along Ejigbo-Idimu Road, with two cutlasses and a suspected stolen television recovered. Another suspect was arrested in Mushin, leading to the recovery of ₦2.5 million and three mobile phones, while two suspects were arrested in connection with a murder case in Ajah.
In Anambra, police acting on intelligence raided criminal hideouts in Okpoko and arrested 13 suspects. Quantities of substances suspected to be cannabis and other illicit drugs, as well as six motorcycles, were recovered.
Police operations in Taraba also led to the arrest of a suspect allegedly found with a locally made single-barrel gun, while another locally fabricated pistol was recovered from a bush at Ogere-Remo in Ogun State.
In Jigawa, police responding to an attack on a Special Constabulary personnel and his wife forced the attackers to flee. The two injured victims were evacuated for treatment, while 20 arrows were recovered from the scene.
The police also responded to an armed robbery incident in Agbura Community, Bayelsa State, rescuing and evacuating an injured victim to hospital.
The Force said investigations into the various incidents are ongoing, with the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments handling the cases.
