APC Names Umar Majigi Director of ICT, Reinforces Digital Transformation Drive
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Dr. Umar Majigi as the substantive Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), a move the party says underscores its commitment to strengthening internal capacity and deepening digital innovation.
The appointment was announced in a press statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka.
According to the statement, Dr. Majigi’s elevation reflects his proven expertise, professionalism, and consistent contributions to the development and continuous upgrading of the APC’s ICT architecture. He holds a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity Science and has additional academic and professional qualifications in web design, programming, and data processing.
Before his appointment as Director, Dr. Majigi served as Assistant Director of ICT at the party’s National Secretariat and was later appointed Acting Director of ICT, a role in which he provided both strategic leadership and operational support.
During his tenure as Acting Director, the APC credited Dr. Majigi with playing a key role in strengthening the party’s ICT infrastructure. He reportedly oversaw improvements in data management systems and the deployment of digital technologies that enhanced party operations across the country.
The statement also highlighted his strategic involvement in the implementation of the APC’s membership e-registration system, which significantly improved the credibility, efficiency, and accessibility of the party’s membership database nationwide.
The APC noted that Dr. Majigi’s appointment reflects its adherence to merit-based practices, institutional continuity, and the promotion of experienced personnel to positions of greater responsibility.
The party expressed confidence that his leadership would further consolidate its digital systems and support its organisational growth going forward.
