Aminu Shehu Uba Sharada, Personal Assistant to Orji Uzor Kalu, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Kano Municipal Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Sharada’s declaration marks a major step in his political journey and signals the start of his campaign to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.
Announcing his ambition, the aspirant said his decision was inspired by a strong commitment to public service and a desire to advance grassroots development and effective representation for the people of Kano Municipal.
According to him, his engagement with governance at the national level has provided him with valuable experience and insight into the workings of government and legislative processes.
Sharada noted that Kano Municipal, historically known as a major hub of commerce, culture and human capital, deserves vibrant and responsive representation that prioritizes the welfare of its people.
He emphasized the need to focus on youth empowerment, economic opportunities, improved access to quality education, and sustainable infrastructural development across the constituency.
The aspirant also stated that the time had come to introduce fresh energy and innovative ideas into the legislative process in order to better address the needs and aspirations of residents.
Expressing confidence in his ability to deliver effective representation, Sharada said he is prepared to champion policies that would positively impact the lives of his constituents.
He further appealed to party leaders, political stakeholders, youths, women and community elders across the constituency to support his aspiration, stressing that unity and collective effort are key to building a stronger Kano Municipal.
Sharada also pledged to uphold transparency, inclusiveness and accountability if elected, promising to serve as a voice for the people and a bridge between government and the grassroots.
His declaration has begun to attract interest among various groups within the constituency, particularly among young people who view his candidacy as a symbol of renewed hope and progressive leadership ahead of the 2027 polls.
