President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reinstated M.S. Danjuma, Permanent Secretary in charge of Special Duties at the Federal Ministry of Finance, two months after suspending him over allegations linked to a purported government project.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, conveyed the President’s approval in a letter dated October 22, 2026, stating that Danjuma’s reinstatement took effect from October 21.
Danjuma was among three permanent secretaries suspended by President Tinubu on August 21, 2026, following a report by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) concerning the activities of an alleged agency known as the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office.
The purported agency was allegedly promoted by George Buchi Nwabueze, with suspected involvement of public servants in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
According to the official announcement, the President approved Danjuma’s return to office after due diligence and directed the Head of the Civil Service to ensure his immediate resumption of duties.
He is expected to continue discharging his responsibilities in line with the Public Service Rules, applicable regulations and ethical standards governing the Federal Civil Service.
The reinstatement marks a reversal of the August suspension, which followed concerns raised in the ICPC report about the activities of the purported project.
