A member of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Durotolu Oyebode Bankole, has congratulated Solomon Olamilekan Adeola on his emergence as the party’s consensus governorship flag bearer for the 2027 gubernatorial election in Ogun State.
Bankole, in a statement issued in Abuja on April 14, 2026, described Adeola’s adoption as the party’s candidate as a reflection of his proven leadership, vast experience and commitment to the development of Ogun State.
Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, currently represents Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
According to Bankole, the lawmaker’s emergence enjoys overwhelming support among party stakeholders, noting that his track record as a chartered accountant, legislator and public servant positions him well to lead the state.
He expressed confidence that Adeola possesses the vision, capacity and integrity to consolidate on existing achievements and take the state to greater heights.
Bankole also commended the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, for what he described as his exemplary leadership and efforts in fostering peace, unity and cohesion within the APC in the state.
He noted that Abiodun’s administration has recorded significant progress through investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and youth empowerment.
The APC chieftain further praised party stakeholders, including former governors, elder statesmen and party leaders in the state, for demonstrating maturity and unity in arriving at a consensus candidate.
He said the development reflects the strength and cohesion within the party and signals its preparedness for the 2027 election.
Bankole also appreciated the people of Ogun State for their continued support for the APC and its development agenda, urging party members and supporters to rally behind Adeola to secure victory at the polls.
He expressed optimism that the party would consolidate on its achievements and deliver greater dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
