The All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly dismissed as false and malicious a purported party membership slip circulating on social media that allegedly links notorious terrorist Mohammed Bello Turji to the ruling party.
In a press statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka on Tuesday in Abuja, the APC described the document as a complete fabrication, warning the public against being misled by what it termed a deliberate attempt to discredit the party and cause public confusion.
According to the party, the so-called membership slip has no connection whatsoever to the APC’s electronic membership register or database being used for the ongoing Electronic Registration and Validation
Exercise.
“The membership slip is a fabrication, fake and without any association or link, whatsoever, with our membership register and database,” the party stated.
The APC further debunked the authenticity of the document by pointing out glaring inconsistencies, including the claim that the registration took place in a nonexistent “Ward 13” of Shinkafi Local Government Area in Zamfara State, which officially has only 10 wards.
“All digital parameters represented on the fake slip bear no connection to our Party’s membership register. All other information paraded on the fake slip are nonexistent and certainly not contained in our membership database,” the statement added.
The party accused unnamed mischief makers of orchestrating the fabrication to hoodwink members of the public and pursue the “sinister objectives,” describing the act as vile and highly offensive.
The APC therefore urged its members and the general public to completely disregard the document, stressing that it does not reflect the values, processes or records of ~the~ party
