Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has ordered the immediate demolition of the SAMBEL Facility located in Idoji, Okene Local Government Area, following intelligence reports that criminal elements linked to terrorist groups were using the area as a hideout.
The directive was issued during an early morning visit to the site by the governor as part of his administration’s renewed crackdown on criminal activities across the state. Governor Ododo declared that there would be no safe haven for criminals in any part of Kogi State.
He disclosed that security agencies have been mandated to intensify clearance operations statewide to flush out criminal elements and dismantle all structures aiding or harbouring criminal activities.
“We will not negotiate with bandits,” the governor stated, reiterating his administration’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property.
Governor Ododo emphasized that security is a collective responsibility, urging residents to support government efforts by providing timely and credible information to security agencies. According to him, sustainable peace can only be achieved through active collaboration between citizens and the government.
He explained that the demolition exercise forms part of broader measures aimed at restoring peace, strengthening law and order, and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.
Recall that in December 2025, the Kogi State Government introduced sweeping emergency security measures empowering authorities to pursue criminals and their sponsors in line with existing laws and legislations against violent crimes.
