The Nigeria Police Force has unveiled the POCACOV Digest Magazine, a flagship publication aimed at strengthening preventive policing and showcasing the achievements of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) across the country.
The magazine was officially unveiled by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen public awareness, promote community participation and reinforce non-kinetic approaches to crime prevention.
The publication documents POCACOV’s activities nationwide, highlighting its advocacy against cultism, drug abuse, cybercrime, bullying and other social vices. It also features the initiative’s engagement with young people, strategic partnerships with stakeholders and community-based interventions designed to discourage criminal behaviour before it occurs.
According to the Nigeria Police Force, the digest serves as a platform to showcase the impact of POCACOV’s programmes while encouraging broader public support for preventive policing initiatives.
The Force noted that the unveiling reflects its sustained commitment to advancing preventive policing through public enlightenment, stakeholder collaboration and innovative programmes that promote safer and more secure communities across Nigeria.
It added that the publication is expected to strengthen awareness of POCACOV’s mission and inspire greater involvement by schools, parents, community leaders, civil society organisations and other partners in addressing the root causes of crime and social vices.
The Police reaffirmed that preventive policing remains a key component of its strategy to build safer communities through education, advocacy and active citizen participation.
