The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has commended the Olowo of Owo, Oba (Dr.) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye II, for his enduring commitment to peacebuilding and grassroots security as the revered traditional ruler marked his 60th birthday.
The IGP, who was represented by the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, Felix Ohagwu, joined dignitaries on Monday at the birthday celebration held in Owo, Ondo State.
Delivering the Inspector-General’s goodwill message, the police commissioner congratulated the monarch on attaining the milestone age and praised his leadership in promoting harmony and fostering a strong partnership between traditional institutions and the Nigeria Police Force.
He noted that the Olowo’s support for community engagement and security initiatives has contributed significantly to efforts aimed at tackling crime and enhancing public safety in Owo and surrounding communities.
According to the IGP’s representative, the collaboration between traditional rulers and security agencies remains vital to sustaining peace and strengthening intelligence gathering at the grassroots level.
The Nigeria Police Force also prayed for the monarch’s continued good health, wisdom and a peaceful, prosperous reign, expressing confidence that his leadership would continue to advance development and security within his domain.
The event attracted traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders and other well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the monarch’s six decades of life and service.
