The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has officially submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest for the Kano North Senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau submitted the completed forms at about 1:45 p.m. at the Treasures Suites and Conferences Hotel in Abuja, where the APC is receiving nomination documents from aspirants.
The submission was witnessed by party officials, political associates and supporters who cheered the lawmaker as he completed the process.
Speaking shortly after the submission, Senator Barau expressed appreciation to the people of Kano North Senatorial District for their continued support, trust and solidarity throughout his political journey.
He assured constituents of his determination to continue championing programmes and policies aimed at improving the living conditions of the people across the district.
“Insha Allah, we will continue to work tirelessly to address the challenges confronting our people and to advance programmes and initiatives that improve their lives,” he said.
The Deputy Senate President added that the welfare, progress and development of the people across the 13 local government areas of Kano North would remain the focus of his representation.
“Our commitment to the welfare, progress, and development of our constituents across the 13 Local Government Areas of Kano North Senatorial District remains our highest priority. This is the essence of our service and the true purpose of politics,” he stated.
