The Kogi State First Lady, Her Excellency, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, following his passing.
According to a statement by the Media Office of the Kogi State First Lady, Hajia Sefinat during the visit expressed her sympathy to the bereaved family, acknowledging the pain that comes with the loss of a father and family patriarch.
The statement said the First Lady encouraged the family to remain steadfast in faith and take solace in Allah, who gives life and determines the appointed time of every soul.
She urged the family to draw strength from Allah and the cherished memories of the years they shared with the late former governor, while remaining united in prayer, love and faith.
Hajia Sefinat, according to the statement, also reflected on the late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris’ years of service to Kogi State, noting his contributions to the development of the state during his tenure as governor from 2003 to 2012.
She noted that his administration pursued programmes and projects across various sectors, with attention to the welfare and development of the people, including women and children.
The First Lady urged the family to take comfort in the life the deceased lived, the lives he touched and his contributions to the development of Kogi State.
She prayed that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, while also asking Allah to grant the family patience, strength and comfort to bear the loss.
“May Almighty Allah comfort you and the entire family at this difficult time. May He strengthen you, give you the grace to bear this loss and grant the departed Aljannatul Firdaus. We are all from Allah and unto Him is our return,” she said.
Hajia Sefinat assured the family of her prayers and support, praying that Almighty Allah grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus. Ameen,” she added.
